As well as much loved traditional entertainment, A Country Affair showcases modern performers and contributors too, refelcting the communities in which the show is held.

A Country Affair is designed to provide entertainment for every member of the family. For grandparents the show is a nostalgic return to charming trips out in days gone by. For parents, it's a journey back to vaguely remembered shows and entertainment enjoyed with their own mothers and fathers. And now parents themselves, it's an opportunity for them to give their own children a taste - often for the first time - of the innocent pleasures of a countryside show, complete with the endearing animal antics that make A Country Affair a truly memorable family day out.

Dancing sheep and racing hens!

A Country Affair's hilarious sheep shearing show, starring dancing ewes and rams, furry ferret races, endearing dog shows, mischievous gun dog displays, the ancient sport of hen racing (believe us until you've seen a chicken sprint you've never been to the races) and our wonderful petting farm have amused and thrilled audiences wherever they go.

A riot of colour and entertainment.

Though undeniably upstaged by our four-legged and feathered friends, the two-legged stars amuse and thrill in abundance too.

Vibrant colours and a welcome dash of nostalgia are created by one of the country's biggest and professionally- choreographed performances by Maypole dancers. Morris Dancers help set the traditional theme too, while the best modern dance and drama troupes from the area help to make A Country Affair a community affair too.

Shopping, steam, animals and rides.

There's a high quality shopping experience including crafts, fashion, horticulture, holistics and hobbies.

Take a ride on the mini steam train. Visit the farm and learn how the animals are cared for. There are both traditional and modern fairground rides and state of the art simulators too.

To whet the appeitite for a perfect day, there's food for every taste, including meals, snacks and treats for youngsters, plus great beers and wines at the village inn.
